The bottled water brand, Waiakea Hawaiian Volcanic Water has won several accolades this year. One of the distinctions obtained by Waiakea Hawaiian Volcanic Water includes being mentioned as one of the best water brands of 2017 by the water critic website 10 Best Water.
Although Waiakea did not win the best water brand award from 10 Best Water, it did finish in second place. 10 Best Water named Waiakea to its top ten spot for best bottled water because of its great taste, incredible purity and commitment to sustainability, environmentalism and philanthropy.
An award that Waiakea Hawaiian Volcanic Water did win from 10 Best Water is the best volcanic water of 2017 award. This came as a big surprise as Waiakea faced competition from well known bottled water brands such as Evian, Smart Water, Fiji, Voss, and Icelandic Glacial. Waiakea water managed to outperform all of these brands in its category of best volcanic water and best overall bottled water brand.
2017 marks the third year in a row that Waiakea Water has earned a top ten spot with 10 Best Water. This speaks volumes about the brand, which is only a few years old. Despite being a new and emerging bottled water brand, many in the industry now view Waiakea as one of the most influential brand in the markets right now that is setting trends.
The founder of Waiakea Water, Ryan Emmons, said in a press release, that when he founded the company his goal was the change the bottled water industry from within the industry. He also said that another of his goals was to bring a more positive aspect to the consumer packaged goods industry.
One of the ways that Waiakea has achived this is through the use of recycled PET plastic bottles at its bottling plant in California. In fact, Waiakea water, uses 100% recycled plastic for bottling and this has been lauded by both consumers and water critics.
Ryan Emmons also points out the fact that Waiakea water gets such positive remarks and attention for its commitment to sustainability and giving back, is a sign to the rest of the consumer packaged and bottled water industry.
They should follow suit too. In addition to using only recycled plastic for its water bottles, the source of Waikea’s water is one of the most sustainable sources of water in the world. All of this when combined with initiatives of giving back to the community such as through reforestation projects are why Waiakea is a leading and award winning bottled water brand right now.
